December

Hot chocolate baileys

we drank in front of the fireplace

Christmas lights flicker around our endless conversations

a 2 centimetre scar on your left hand when you fell off your brothers bike

you picked yourself right up and that’s my favourite story

December never felt so warm

December was the first time i gave more than me and i got more back tell everyone two Decembers later how you helped me up when i fell down we were ice skating at rocker fella centre

and that’s my favourite story

flash forward and were dancing at our best friends wedding

we were tipsy but you have the moves to save my non-rhythmic bones

we felt much more than home

in out hotel room you looked at me and whispered

you’re already my family so lets run away and get married

tonight that’s my favourite story

December never felt so warm

December was the first time i gave more than me and i got more back tell everyone that night we made it an everlasting something blue something new always borrowed love true

and that’s my favourite story
